Leave no-one behind

We want to erode monopoly politics.

Western Australians can vote to elect the first Senator from Western Australia in more than half a century to the Australian Senate.

We will dedicate efforts to a Commonwealth Human Rights Act – for all citizens and residents, including special visa residents, permanent visa residents, and for temporary visa residents, refugees and asylum seekers.

We also want ancillary Human Rights Acts at State and Territory jurisdictional levels to protect human rights and social justice apothegms.

We want ‘prisoner’ rights protected in a Human Rights Act – and we will dedicate efforts to restore their access to Medicare, to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and to the National Insurance Disability Scheme, to which they do not have access. Medicare is denied to the incarcerated.

We want the abolition of children’s prisons. In Australia, there are 17 juvenile detention centres.

We want the release – by amnesty – of low level and low risk offenders – and that they are supported psychosocially post-release. We want adult prisons to be transformed into the restorative and genuinely rehabilitative – we must understand the disadvantages people were born into and the fact many never had a chance.

We want the age of criminal responsibility raised to 14 and investments ensured in supporting psychosocially children and their families/carers.

We want everyone entitled to Social Security support payments, no-one left behind.

We will educate towards a Universal Living Wage for all Australian citizens and residents.

We want an end to the deportation of Australian residents.

We want Australia to increase significantly Australia’s migration intake of asylum seekers.

We want Australia to repair its appalling and increasingly infamous record of human rights abuses. We want Australia to have the world’s best human rights record.

We want Australia to restore, and then increase, its international aid contributions.

We want an end to disparities – we want economic parity between First Nations peoples and the rest of Australia. We want an end to ‘racialised disparities’ addressed without delay.

We want First Nations homelands nourished with every imaginable infrastructure – and their self-determining values ensured.

We want all social and public housing unmet needs resolved without delay.

We want an end to all street homelessness.

We want more done than ever before in suicide prevention.

We want the nation to focus its national spending, from its double trillionaire GDP economy, on a triage based needs first approach.

We want the reduction of relative and abject poverty and the road to their elimination.

We want to see wages increase for the majority of workers – and accorded immutably with annual increases to offset indexation creep.

We want primary and secondary health care budgets funded in sync with indexation and need.

We want the planet put first, human societies devolve greed which is leading to the ruination of the planet.

We want to protect civil liberties and wind back the dramatic erosion of civil liberties. We want transparent and accountable government processes. Human rights and human responsibilities are intertwined, they are not separate.

We want seasoned expertise in our parliaments, not careerists. We want a limit on how many terms of office an individual can hold in parliament.
